The Iberian Association of Railway History (ASIHF) was founded in January 2016 by a group of Spanish and Portuguese researchers with the general aim of promoting research, teaching, and the publication of scholarly work related to the history of railways. While its primary focus is on railways and the Spanish and Portuguese contexts, respectively, ASIHF also encompasses the study of related topics, such as pre-rail transport and urban transport, their relationships with other modes of transport or industries, and heritage, as well as other regional contexts such as those in Europe and Latin America.

Its core activities include organizing conferences, publishing the scientific journal TST, providing educational and research consulting services to organizations that request them, and raising awareness among institutions about the importance of preserving and making documentary collections available to the public, as well as protecting industrial heritage.

The fees are as follows: a) Regular, €50; b) Youth (up to age 27) and Students, €25; c) Unemployed, free; d) Institutional Members, €250 per year.
