2nd City, Rail, and Port Symposium

On October 17, the Second “City, Rail, and Port” Colloquium will be held at the Vicálvaro Campus of Rey Juan Carlos University. The event is organized by the research network that, under this title, brings together social science researchers from the universities of Évora (CIDEHUS), Rey Juan Carlos, Seville, and Valladolid. The colloquium is organized by the Department of History and Economic Institutions within the Faculty of Economics and Business at Rey Juan Carlos University, in collaboration with the University of Évora / CIDEHUS.
This research group, which is made up of about twenty scholars from European and American universities (https://interknowledge.uevora.pt/members/), has as its main objective the study of the relationships and connections between cities and rail and port services, both from a historical perspective and in light of current changes.

Online seminars are held monthly to explore specific issues raised by both members of this network and other guest researchers who specialize in one of the relevant topics. Book club sessions are also organized to promote publications of interest to the network.

As part of this event, the previously announced symposium will be held and can also be followed online upon registration via email at: interknowledge@uevora.pt, so that you can receive the link to the session. Registration for this symposium is free.

The symposium will take place throughout the day and will be divided into three sessions focused on “Railways and the City,” “Young Researchers,” and “Museums.” In addition, on Saturday, the 18th, there will be a technical tour of the Madrid-Abroñigal Logistics Center.
