Magda Pinheiro

She studied history at the Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, where she earned her doctorate. She has been a professor and full professor at ISCTE since 1977, where she has coordinated the doctoral program in Modern and Contemporary History. She has been a Professor Emerita since 1987 (January 13) – Ph.D. from the Nouveau Régime program at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne under the supervision of Professor Jean Bouvier (then president of the Institut d’Histoire Économique et Sociale), and has received three honorable mentions—*Chemins de fer*, *Structure Financière de l’État*, and *Dépendance Extérieure au Portugal* (1850–1890). Her research has focused on the history of railroads, urban history, public finance, biography, and memory. 

President

Miguel Muñoz Rubio

A historian who studied at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he earned his doctorate and taught for ten years. He has spent his professional career at the Spanish Railways Foundation, where he has directed its library, historical archive, and museum in Madrid. His research has focused on the Spanish railroads, and he has published numerous works on the role they have played in economic and social life. Notable among these are *Renfe (1941–1991): Half a Century of Public Railways*;*150 Years of Spanish Railway History* ( co-author); *Labor Organizations and Repression in the Railways: An International Perspective* (editor); and “Ochocientos brazos.” The Labor Movement in the Railways During the Franco Regime.

Ana Cardoso de Matos

Professor at the University of Évora (ECS)—Department of History—and a member of the CIDEHUS/UÉ Research Center. Since 2007, she has served as the coordinator at the University of Évora for the Erasmus Mundus Master’s program TPTI—Techniques, Heritage, and Industrial Territories. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the National Railway Museum Foundation; the board ofthe International Railway History Association (IRHA); and theComité d’Histoire de l’électricité et de l’énergie, Fondation EDF. She serves on the editorial board of the journals TST—Transportes, Servicios y Telecomunicacionesandthe Journal of Energy History (JEHRHE), and on the scientific advisory board of the journalsPatrimonio Industriale—Rivista AIPAIand MIDAS—Museos y Estudios Interdisciplinares. His work focuses on the history of technology (gas and electricity) and the history of engineers and railways.

Jordi Martí Hennerberg

Professor of Human Geography at the University of Lleida. He has led various research projects on the evolution and transformative effect of the railway network in Europe. The results of a study on the urban impact of railways in Spain and Portugal can be found at www.ciudadyferrocarril.com. His publications (available at https://scholar.google.es/citations?hl=es&user=r5jGFAsAAAAJ) have focused on the study of Europe as a whole and of more specific regions: the Iberian Peninsula, the United Kingdom, the Nordic countries, and the Balkans.

Francisco de los Cobos

He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology, a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology, and is a university expert in Cooperative Studies from the Complutense University. He works as a tenured professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha in the Department of Philosophy, Art, Sociology, and Aesthetics. His research focuses on the social aspects of railroads and the social history of labor.

Débora González Jurado

She holds a Ph.D. in Journalism with a thesis on communication, advertising, and relations with the press and the printing industry, as well as the government and public relations of major Spanish and French railroad companies in the second half of the 19th century; a Master’s degree in Research in Journalistic Communication; a Master’s degree in Business Marketing; and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Málaga. She has completed research stays at the universities of Rennes 2 and Bordeaux Montaigne (France), Newcastle (UK), and Georgia State (USA). She has published in prestigious academic journals in Madrid, London, Aix-en-Provence, Buenos Aires, and Valparaíso, among others. She is currently working on several research projects in the fields of contemporary history and the modern world, the history of communication, and cultural studies. 

Laura Lalana Encinas

I hold a bachelor’s degree in the fundamentals of architecture from the University of Valladolid (UVa) and two master’s degrees—one in Architecture and one in Landscape and Heritage Management—from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). I specialize in urban planning, heritage, and landscape.

Fernanda de Lima Lourencetti

She holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Évora, a degree in architecture from the São Paulo State University “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (UNESP-Bauru), and a master’s degree from the Erasmus Mundus TPTI program—Techniques, Patrimoine, Territoires de l’Industrie. Her research focuses on railway heritage, with a particular emphasis on the history of urban planning and architecture. She is currently a research fellow at the Interdisciplinary Center for History, Cultures, and Societies at the University of Évora (CIDEHUS/UE) and provides professional services in the fields of architecture and urban planning. 

Pedro Pablo Ortúñez Goicolea

Full Professor of History and Economic Institutions at the University of Valladolid, where he teaches. His primary research focuses on the Spanish railway system prior to nationalization, its regulation, and the history of companies and the public sector. He is vice president of the Board of theInternational Railway History Association andassociate editor of the Editorial Board of the journal*Transportes, Servicios y Telecomunicaciones*.

Víctor Sanchís Maldonado

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and History and a master’s degree in Contemporary History from the UAM. He currently works as a pre-doctoral researcher in the Department of Applied Economics I and History and Economic Institutions at Rey Juan Carlos University. His research focuses on the development of the Spanish railway network during the 19th century and the economic, social, and political implications of its construction.

TST Editor

Carles Gorini

Carles Goriniholds a Ph.D. in History, a master’s degree in Communication and Cultural Studies, and is a journalist registered with the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya. He is a researcher at the Institut Català de Recerca en Patrimoni Cultural (ICRPC). In the field of cultural heritage, he has focused his work on compiling inventories of local architectural heritage. Subsequently, he has turned his attention to Catalonia’s railway heritage, a field in which he has carried out various inventory and research projects resulting from collaboration agreements between the ICRPC, the Consorci de les Víes Verdes de Girona, and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC). In other professional fields, he has provided consulting services on communication and cultural outreach at the University of Girona and has served as an advisor to the office of the Regional Minister of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
